We wrapped up the school year with a very memorable visit to Union City High School. For the past 3 years Family and Consumer Science Teacher Judy Gawlinksi has been sharing Demi’s message with her students. Peer Educator Austin Kesselring took it upon himself to contact Dr. Cuccia and arrange for our Teen Dating Violence Awareness and Prevention Outreach Program to visit his school. Through the fundraising efforts of Austin and his peers – Union City we were bound. Over 350 students filled the auditorium to here Demi’s message regarding dating violence awareness and prevention. It was such an honor to be in the presence of so many wonderful students and faculty.
Following the presentation, Austin was presented with our Youth Ambassador Award in recognition of his efforts. We offer a heartfelt thank you to all the student volunteers and the student body for welcoming us so warmly into Union City High School.
